Muti-cultural Diversity

The Multi-diversity advocates actually miss the point of United States of America's immigration purpose, hopes, and long term survival. The purpose of immigrating to this country should be to become one with the rest of this society. This in no way implies a lack of respect for the culture of origin, however; your insistence on multiple languages is a total lack of respect for the USA's customs, culture, and collective well being. It's imperative during emergencies to be able to communicate with each other. Not possible in ten different languages quickly. This group completely overlooks Our Country's position relative to immigration. Immigrating here to become an American citizen and assimilate in Our culture is the purpose.I welcome all legal immigrants to our Country! come and assimilate with us. The USA's official language is English

The immigration effort is not complete

It appears the amnesty bill # S-1639 has been defeated. We can not rest on our laurels yet! Now is the time for enforcement of our immigration laws. Our Government needs to close our porous borders, stop the continuous migration of people here. We really need to dry up the jobs offered the illegal migrants. We need to place substantial penalties against the employers & officers of these companies, Believed me the chance of being in prison for breaking the law will bring about a change of Their attitude quickly!
We as American Citizens need to keep the pressure on our elected officials to enforce our Immigration Laws, and Change our quotas where required. If we do not keep up the pressure, we return to the status quo which is unacceptable.

It's Still Not Too Late

The vote on Amnesty is tomorrow ; please contact your Senator by phone, fax, email, etc. I have found email to be the most consistent method of contact. Fax & phone lines become jammed up. Emails seam to go right through & you have delivery conformation afterwards. Keep on sending new emails after conformations are received.

Amnesty! The Congress Disconnect with America!!

I have sadly come to the conclusion that most of the Senators & House Representatives in Congress are too Ignorant to understand how simple the Immigration problem is! Congress must always create complexity; where none exists to fool their constituents into believing there is vast intelligence present. Our Government actually believes we the American Citizens are the ignorant Ones, perhaps so we keep electing these incompetent individuals to office! All of us have a responsibility to Demand our Senators defeat Bill S-1639! Please; Fax, Call, Write a letter to them, to halt this insanity called Amnesty!!!.

Amnesty by any name.

The Senate is aggressively working on the next version of an amnesty bill ( S 1639) which the vast majority of American citizens do not want. I typically refer to people here illegally as migrants. to be an immigrant you must be here by invitation. Immigrants have obeyed our laws and applied for permission to enter our Country. DO our immigration laws & quotas need to be reviewed and possibly revised most certainly? What WE DO NOT NEED are a whole new group of laws which will not be enforced any better than the laws already there!! What we need is for our Government to enforce our laws, & control our borders, which they are not DOING!!! Any comprehensive Immigration bill will not accomplish anything beyond Politicians claiming they have done something useful.
What we need is a by the numbers solution
1; Close & Control our borders
2; Eliminate Jobs! if there is no income illegal migrants will not stay & more importantly others will not come here. I have heard & do not believe that lettuce will cost $3.00 a head without the illegal migrants to work the fields. Even if it did IT'S still cheaper than what it cost legal residents to support medical, school, & other hidden cost by these individuals & their families. a big step in stopping jobs follows below!
3; Large fines for companies employing illegal persons for the first offense. 2nd offense Jail time for company officers, want to guess how quickly the jobs disappear !
4; When illegal migrants are apprehended breaking other laws, deport them & if they return to our Country go straight to jail, do not pass go. its unnecessary to round up these people, no income & attrition will solve the problem over time.

Amnesty Bill Failing

It appears the amnesty giveaway bill is headed for failure. Great ! It's failing for all the wrong reasons, It's tragic that our elected Senators must resort to procedural tricks to stop this worthless bill. A serious problem exist in that this bill will be presented in the future probably with Democrat as president! The citizens of this great nation must stand up in protest to our elected officals in Washington by passing our wishes. with this type of bills.

Hellow, I'm new at this, so bear with me please

This is my first Blog.
I am generally a moderately conservative person, particularly where the Constitution is concerned. I believe our elected congressional representatives are not doing their job as defined by the Constitution of the United States of America. I also think the current group of Individuals residing in these Hallowed Chambers are weak of Character to say the best of them.

The best this Congress has been able to accomplish is 2 failed attempts to pass a non-binding resolution to end the war in Iraq! The 1st 100hours? of the 110 congress accomplished zilch! thank God for that! WE have far to MUCH Government in our daily lives already.

If this Congress actually believe we should leave Iraq now (if not yesterday) the process is called impeachment of the President; however that action does require accepting the accountability of those actions. No more back door I'm not-responsible best of both sides positions.
